Because your vision is precious, at Romeo Optometry we strive to provide exceptional eye and vision care in an honest and friendly environment with current knowledge, integrity and up-to-date technology. Romeo Optometry is located at 376 Romeo Street South in Stratford, Ontario.

Dear valued Patients of Romeo Optometry,

Due to the risk of spread of the Covid-19 Virus the Chief Medical Officer of Health has directed a stop to all non-essential, elective services for an indefinite period of time. This includes routine eye exams.

Optometrists may provide urgent care by phone, e-mail or if necessary in person as long as the patient has not travelled from outside of Canada during the previous 14 days and is not experiencing any symptoms of the virus (fever, cough, sneezing, sore throat). Urgent eye issues include eye injury, sudden loss of vision, significant eye pain, etc. There are a limited number of eyeglass and contact lens issues that will be considered urgent as well.

Romeo Optometry will remain open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Friday.  One optometrist will be available during that time for phone advice and examination of emergency patients. Please do not drop in, call first or send a message to info@romeoeyes.com and you will be given instructions. If you do need to come into the office we will ask you to use hand sanitizer at the door, answer screening questions and have your temperature read with a non-contact thermometer.

If you need a supply of contact lenses, glasses that you have ordered, safety glasses or other supplies such as dry eye products, call us with your credit card information ready. Most of our contact lens suppliers will deliver directly to your house. If not, and in the case of other products, we can have them bagged and ready for a quick pick up at the office or we will deliver to your porch within Stratford City limits.

For contact lens wearers, some reassurance that contacts do not increase your risk of contracting the virus as long as you properly disinfect them daily and wash your hands before insertion and removal.

For people renewing their Driver’s Licence, the Province of Ontario has extended the validation period so there is no need for an eye exam at this time.

We hope everyone stays well and we will do our best to serve your urgent eye care needs during this difficult time. As the situations changes we will keep you up to date by email.
